What we collect
- Your callsign and the public FCC license record for it (name, mailing address, license class).
- Your email address and portal password (stored securely hashed).
- Your phones' model, MAC address, firmware and the network address they connect from.
- Call records: who called whom, when and for how long. Calls are not recorded.
- Voicemails left for you, until you delete them.
- Helpdesk requests and replies.
How we use it
Only to run ShackComm: verifying licenses, connecting calls, setting up phones, weather alerts for your county, keeping the service secure, and helping you. Volunteers who run the system and helpdesk helpers see what they need for that.
Who else sees it
- Other members see your directory entry (callsign, name, city, state) unless you're unlisted, and your busy status unless you turn it off.
- To find your county for weather alerts, your license address is sent to the US Census geocoder and the location to the National Weather Service.
- Emails are delivered through an email service provider.
- We never sell your information.
Your choices
You can be unlisted, hide your busy status, turn off weather paging, and remove phones at any time. To delete your account, open a helpdesk request.
